This Privacy Policy explains how Instanotes AI handles information when you use the mobile application and related support pages.
1. Information you create in the app
The app is built around user-created content such as notes, prompts, generated text, imported images, and optional audio recordings. Most note content is intended to remain on your device unless you explicitly use a feature that sends it to a cloud service, export it, or share it.
2. Permissions used by the app
The app may request access to:
- Camera, to capture text from physical documents and scenes
- Microphone, to record audio for speech-to-text features
- Photo picker access, to import a specific image you choose
- Network access, to reach cloud features and ads
Permissions are used only for the feature you invoke and can be revoked in your device settings.
3. OCR and on-device processing
Text recognition from images may be processed on-device using ML Kit components integrated into the app. That means some OCR operations can happen locally on your phone instead of requiring your full image library to be uploaded.
4. AI features
When you use AI tools, the text you provide and the generated output may be processed either on-device or through cloud services, depending on the feature, your plan, and the model route currently enabled by the app.
Cloud AI requests may be routed through Firebase-hosted backend services and third-party model providers. If you use speech-to-text, your recording may be transmitted for transcription only after you trigger that feature.
5. Analytics, operational logs, and abuse prevention
The app may use Firebase services and similar tooling to measure feature usage, reliability, crashes, and basic operational events. Limited logs may also be kept to detect abuse, enforce quotas, and maintain service quality.
6. Ads and purchases
The free experience may include advertising through Google Mobile Ads. Premium purchases are handled through Apple or Google in-app purchase systems. We do not receive your full payment card details; billing is managed by the platform provider.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the app, process AI requests you initiate, serve ads in supported flows, process in-app purchases, or comply with legal obligations.
8. Data retention
Locally stored notes remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Some operational logs, analytics, billing events, or AI request records may be retained for support, abuse prevention, quota enforcement, and service reliability.
9. Your choices
- Revoke permissions from device settings
- Delete notes stored locally in the app
- Stop using cloud AI features if you do not want remote processing

10. Children's privacy
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly design the service to collect personal information from children.
